CPR Instructor Buddy is a Chrome extension that helps CPR instructors complete repetitive administrative work, including filling in class forms, finding their own student enrollments, and identifying certifications that are approaching expiration.

This Privacy Policy explains what information CPR Instructor Buddy receives, how the extension handles information while you use it, and how that information is protected.

CPR Instructor Buddy is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or produced by the American Heart Association. “AHA,” “Atlas,” and “eCards” are used only to identify the third-party websites the extension assists on.

We receive only the information you provide when you create an account or activate the extension:

• Your first name
• Your last name
• Your email address
• Your phone number, if you choose to provide it
• A randomly generated device identifier created by the extension on your computer
• An installation credential the extension uses to verify that your computer is connected to your account

If you do not provide an optional phone number, nothing is stored in its place.

While you are signed in to your own training-management account, CPR Instructor Buddy works with information on the pages you are using.

This information is handled locally by the extension and is not transmitted to CPR Instructor Buddy, Black Diamond Identity Reset LLC, or any unrelated third party. Some information may be stored in Chrome's local extension storage so your work can persist between page loads.

This may include:

• Saved class presets, form drafts, and extension preferences
• Class details you are entering or have entered
• Student enrollment results you look up, including student names, email addresses, course information, dates, and times
• Certification and expiration information you review
• A local diagnostic log used for troubleshooting

Your students' information is not sent to us. It is retrieved from your training-management provider and presented to you through the extension.

To help you look up your own classes and rosters without opening each page individually, CPR Instructor Buddy may use the session your browser is already signed in with on the supported training-management website and communicate with that provider's own interface.

Specifically:

• Session credentials may be read from the page where you are already signed in.
• They are used only to make the required request to that training-management provider.
• They are not saved by CPR Instructor Buddy.
• They are not sent to CPR Instructor Buddy's servers or to unrelated third parties.
• They are not written to the extension's diagnostic log.

The extension operates within the access available to you through your own signed-in account. CPR Instructor Buddy does not ask for or store your training-site password and cannot access your training-management account when you are not signed in.

CPR Instructor Buddy is a paid subscription service. Payments are processed by Stripe.

When you subscribe to or manage your subscription, you are directed to a page hosted by Stripe. Payment information is entered directly through Stripe.

CPR Instructor Buddy does not see, store, or transmit your complete payment-card number or payment credentials.

We receive from Stripe only information necessary to administer your subscription, such as subscription status and billing-period information.

Stripe's handling of payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.

We use information only as necessary to operate and support CPR Instructor Buddy, including:

• Creating and identifying your account
• Determining whether your subscription or trial is active
• Controlling access to extension functionality
• Connecting an additional computer to your account when requested
• Providing customer support
• Maintaining records necessary for billing, tax, and accounting purposes

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use or transfer your information for advertising.
• We do not use analytics, telemetry, or behavioral tracking in the current release.
• We do not track your general web browsing.
• We do not use or transfer your information for creditworthiness or lending purposes.
• We do not use or transfer your information for purposes unrelated to providing and supporting CPR Instructor Buddy.

Account and subscription information is stored in our database infrastructure hosted by Supabase, which acts as a service provider for CPR Instructor Buddy.

Payment information and associated payment records are handled by Stripe.

Information described in Section 2 that is stored locally remains in Chrome's local extension storage on your computer. Local extension information can generally be removed by uninstalling CPR Instructor Buddy or clearing the extension's locally stored data in Chrome.

We retain account information while your account is active and afterward for as long as reasonably necessary to comply with applicable billing, tax, accounting, legal, and record-keeping requirements.

You may request deletion of your CPR Instructor Buddy account information by emailing:

Deletion requests are currently processed manually. We will review your request and confirm when the applicable account information has been deleted.

Certain information may need to be retained where required for legitimate financial, tax, legal, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.

Information that Stripe is independently required to retain is subject to Stripe's own retention obligations and policies.

CPR Instructor Buddy uses technical safeguards designed to protect account access and stored information.

Installation access is associated with a credential held locally on your computer. Our systems store a cryptographic digest used to verify that credential rather than storing the credential itself.

Communications between the extension and our systems use HTTPS.

No electronic system or method of storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we do not claim absolute security.

CPR Instructor Buddy is a professional productivity tool intended for CPR instructors and is not directed to children.

We may update this Privacy Policy if CPR Instructor Buddy's features or information-handling practices change.

When we update the policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will update the policy accordingly.
